Colorado Bike to Work Day

Join thousands of Coloradans on June 24 for Bike to Work Day! The University of Denver stop will feature Campus Cycles providing a fix-it station, Starbuck’s coffee and Jelly’s donut holes. Pedal by for your pre-work pit stop and enjoy the citywide cycling fun! Register here, and make sure you select University of Denver as your employer.

Zero Waste Finals at the Anderson Academic Commons

(May 26, 2015) Zero Waste Finals at the AAC are this week and the library needs everyone’s help diverting compostable and recyclable waste from the landfill!

GrowHaus food boxes

(May 26, 2015) If you’re interested in receiving fresh, organic food delivered to campus and supporting local food justice, sign up for a food box from the GrowHaus. Order by Thursday, pick up your food in the Center for Sustainability on Monday.

Recycle your printer cartridges

(May 19, 2015) The University of Denver now recycles all printer cartridges through Staples. Please follow the instructions to have Staples pick up your cartridges. 

Third Annual DU Farmers Market

Thursday, May 21, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. – Driscoll Green

This year’s DU Farmers Market will be bigger than ever, featuring fresh food and local products, live music, outdoor yoga, DU’s Chopp’d Food Competition, bike sale, art sale and more! Hosted by the Center for Sustainability in partnership with well@du, the USG Sustainability Committee and Sodexo.

E-waste collection drive

Wednesday, May 6, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. – Ricketson Law Building, patio

The Center for Sustainability is partnering with TechnoRescue again for the biannual e-waste drive. This Wednesday you can drop off your electronics – broken or used – outside of the Sturm College of Law for free. If you have questions about what can be recycled, please visit the TechnoRescue website.

Sustainability Council: Call for nominations

(May 5, 2015) You are invited to apply for a voting position in the Sustainability Council for academic year 2015-2016. While council meetings are open to everyone, voting members must attend monthly meetings and participate in at least one committee. Among the goals for the upcoming year is advancing the actions outlined in the chancellor’s Imagine DU – Engaging Community implementation plan. If you wish to be considered for a position, please email a brief statement (less than 300 words) outlining your qualifications and interests as well as a resume or curriculum vitae to kristi.burgert@du.edu by Friday, May 15.
