Pioneers for People coat drive

(Dec. 16, 2014) The Staff Advisory Council will be hosting the sixth annual Pioneers for People coat drive to benefit the Denver Rescue Mission this winter. We will be collecting new and used coats, hats, scarves, gloves and other cold weather items. This is a great way to help those in need, especially if a new coat or other winter gear is on your wish list this holiday season.

In addition to providing collection boxes across campus throughout the two-week drive, we’ll also be hosting a one-day collection event on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at the Anderson Academic Commons.

Watch for more information coming out in January, including a list of drop-off locations and additional details about the new one-day collection event.

2013-2014 Annual Report now available

(Dec. 9, 2014) The University of Denver 2013-2014 Annual Report is now available at du.edu/chancellor. The report showcases just a sampling of noteworthy educational programs and covers financial highlights of the 2013-2014 fiscal year. It is distributed across the country to help spread the word about the University within the higher education community and is used in recruiting and fundraising programs.

(Dec. 2, 2014) Chancellor Chopp files the second report on the community feedback themes she’s been hearing and shares insights on the University’s strategic planning process already underway in this video. The chancellor’s website–du.edu/chancellor–has also been updated to include a new set of questions seeking feedback from DU community members, a “News & Updates” tab where you can see the chancellor’s appearances in the news media as well as her letters to the DU community, and a “Strategic Planning” section where you can keep up to date on the University’s strategic planning process.

Care4Colorado Toy Drive

(Nov. 18, 2014) Once again this year, DU’s Division of Athletics and Recreation is supporting the CBS4 Care4Colorado Toy Drive. Donate a new, unwrapped toy or gift card this holiday season to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver. Drop off your donation at the Ritchie Center Box Office, the Coors Fitness Center, or prior to any hockey, basketball, or gymnastics meet now through Dec. 17.

Construction Closures affecting campus

(Dec. 2, 2014) There is a citywide bridge project in effect to improve pedestrian and bicycle access over I-25 near Colorado Boulevard and Evans Avenue. As a result, closures of I-25 are expected:

Closure of the Evans Avenue off-ramp from southbound I-25 and the right lane of I-25:

  • Dec. 10, 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • Dec. 11, 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • Dec. 18, 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m.

Full closure of I-25 in both directions between Colorado Boulevard and Evans Avenue:

  • Dec. 17, 10 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • Dec. 22, 10 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
