Inauguration of Rebecca S. Chopp
Procession and installation ceremony

Everyone is welcome to attend any of the scheduled inauguration events, but don’t miss the procession and installation ceremony! To show our solidarity with Chancellor Chopp and recognize this significant moment in University history, members of the community will meet and accompany her as she walks to her installation ceremony in full regalia. RSVP by Tuesday, Sept. 8.

(Aug. 25, 2015) Thank you to all who attended the Employee Appreciation Luncheon last week. We would like to take this opportunity to thank each one of the University’s faculty and staff members for your hard work, creativity, service and dedication that together make DU a great institution! The 2015 Years of Service booklet is available online. If you didn’t pick up a years of service pin at the luncheon, please email Pins are available for 5-50 years of service in increments of five.

DU Magazine fall issue now available

(Aug. 25, 2015) The fall issue of the University of Denver Magazine is now available online. This issue explores the new Knoebel Center for the Study of Aging, Chancellor Chopp’s inauguration, the men’s lacrosse championship, student and alumni profiles and more! 

Ritchie Center flood impact update

(Aug. 18, 2015) Construction around the Ritchie Center is still underway to get the facility back to normal after the June 24 flooding. We’d like to provide some updates on the top priorities:

  • Joy Burns Arena floor replacement will take place Aug. 11-22.
  • Coors Fitness Center lower lobby and locker rooms floor replacement will being on Aug. 24. From Aug. 24-28 there will be no access to the lower lobby or Gold Club locker rooms. Access to the Crimson locker rooms will be via the west concourse doors into El Pomar Natatorium.

Asbury street closure

Thursday, Aug. 27, 5-9 p.m.

(Aug. 18, 2015) East Asbury Ave., between High St. and York St., will close on Thursday, Aug. 27 from 5-9 p.m. to accommodate food trucks during the DU Pioneer Summer Concert. The parking lots will remain open and accessible. Join us for the concert featuring the Secondhand Band and Tent Show Kings starting at 6 p.m.!

See the full list of award descriptions and submit your nomination at Nominations are due by Friday, Sept. 4. Awards will be presented at a faculty and staff luncheon on Oct. 28.

University of Denver among Top 20 in two categories in Princeton Review’s Annual College Rankings Guide

The University of Denver has landed a spot in two categories listed in the Princeton Review’s Annual College Rankings Guide for 2016. The University took the No. 14 spot for “College City Gets High Marks,” which is based on answers to questions regarding the city or town where the school is located, and claimed the No. 4 position on “Most Popular Study Abroad Program.” More

Reserve your booth for Pioneer Carnival

(Aug. 4, 2015) Pioneer Carnival has historically been a part of new student orientation at the University of Denver, and is an incredible way to reach our new students.
