DU’s Global Gymnastics Star

Jessica Lopez is always flying high for DU.

Lopez, a junior psychology major from Caracas, Venezuela, is a standout student-athlete on the DU Division I Women’s Gymnastics team.

Jessica’s 2007 season helped DU finish 10th at the NCAA National Championships, where she tied for first on the balance beam and scored top-five finishes in two other events in her session. She was also named a three-time All-American—a first in DU gymnastics history

Jessica has competed in many global gymnastics meets, including the World Championships and the 2004 Pan American Games, where she won the uneven bars. She will compete for Venezuela in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
