Graduate Cost of Attendance

Students may only receive financial aid up to the total cost of attendance, or budget, for any given aid year.  The budget is determined by actual tuition and fee costs and estimated costs of living, and it will only be calculated for the terms a student is actually enrolled.  Below is a sample budget for a student taking 12-18 credits during Fall, Winter, and Spring terms.* Students enrolled in less than 12 credites per term are charged at the per-credit-hour rate of $961 per credit (the rate for 2009-2010.) Direct costs are those charged to your student account whereas indirect costs are estimates of your expenses during enrollment.

Sample Budget:
Direct Costs: Tuition
$34,596
  Fees
714

          Subtotal
$35,310

Indirect Costs: Books
1,749
  Room & Board**
9,963
  Health Insurance***
2,380
  Transportation
1,176
  Personal Expenses
1,269

          Total
$51,847

Actual budget figures vary from year to year.  If you apply for aid, your Financial Aid Award Notification will have the current budget figures and the determining factors, such as enrollment, upon which your budget and aid are based.

*Students enrolled at the Daniel's College of Business are charged per credit for every credit they enroll in; if you take more than 12 credits per term, your tuition costs will be higher.

**Room and Board may be direct costs if you live in campus housing and sign up for a meal plan.

***Health Insurance will be a direct cost unless you waive the insurance offered through University of Denver.

Please be aware that aid for Summer term is limited, and your eligibility for such aid will not be evaluated until the Spring term prior to Summer enrollment.
