Apply by April 15, 2010 Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation For full-time students, sophomore standing and above, who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement/financial need as well as leadership, volunteer, civic and academic services. Graduate Students apply by August 15th. Undergraduate students apply by April 15th. American Chemical Society Scholars Program For African-American, Hispanic and Native Americans pursuing undergraduate college degrees in the chemical sciences. Applications accepted November 1, 2009 - March 1, 2010. American Hotel Foundation Scholarship Available for African-American students majoring in Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism, Management and have a min GPA of 2.5. American Indian Graduate Center Scholarships for American Indian and Alaska Native students. Wells Fargo American Indian Scholarship- for full-time college juniors, seniors, or graduate students with a min GPA of 3.0 in the fields of in fields relating to banking, resort management, gaming operations, management and administration, including accounting, finance, information technology and human resources. Apply by May 1st. Accenture American Indian Scholarship- scholarships and fellowships offered to students studying engineering, computer science, operations management, finance, marketing and other business oriented fields. Apply by May 1st. Search additional scholarships American Indian Science and Engineering Society Scholarships for American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian AISES members pursuing degrees in the computer science, computer engineering and management information systems. American Physical Society Minority Scholarship For Black, Hispanic or Native American US Citizen or Permanent Resident who is majoring or planning to Major in Physics. Must be a high school senior, college freshman or sophomore. The application requires a personal statement, transcript, and two letters of recommendation (one from a math or science teacher). The scholarship is renewable. Applications available November, 2009 Scholarships pay:
Four and three year scholarships are available to high school students. Two and three year scholarships are available to college students. Association on American Indian Affairs Free scholarship search, geared for African-American students, contains more than 300 scholarships searchable by GPA requirement, academic and career interest, and application deadline. College Scholarships Foundation Minority Student Scholarship For minority students of Black, Hispanic, Native American or Pacific Islander ethnicities with a min GPA of 3.0. Apply by December 24th. Colorado Educational Services and Development Association-Diversity Scholarship Applicants must be high school seniors and first generation students, or member of an underrepresented ethnic or racial minority, and/or show financial need. Must be Colorado residents with a min GPA of 2.8. Apply by March 1st. First in My Family Scholarship Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000 In partnership with the Hispanic College Fund Applicants are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American and have attained a high school GPA of 3.3. Apply August 1, 2009 - January 11, 2010. Hispanic Annual Salute highlights outstanding adult and student volunteers throughout Colorado each year. Community leaders come together to select individual winners. Min 2.5 GPA required. Apply by December 15th, 2009. Hispanic College Fund Scholarship Multiple scholarships available to Hispanic students that are U.S. Citizens, have a min GPA of 3.0, be an undergraduate or high school senior, and demonstrate financial need. Hyatt Hotels Fund for Minority Lodging Management Students Available to full-time Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism Management sophomore students. Kaiser Permanente Diversity Scholarship Program For Colorado residents pursuing a career associated with the health care or public health fields. For students entering undergraduate, graduate or doctoral studies. Selection based on: Academic Achievement, Character Qualities, Community Outreach/Volunteering, Diverse Populations/Under-representation in health care & public health professions, financial need. Apply by February 1st. Latin America Educational Foundation For Colorado residents of Hispanic heritage and/or actively involved in the Hispanic community with a min GPA of 3.0. Recipients are required to fulfill 10hrs. of community service. Apply by March 1st. Search engine for latino students. For LGBT students who aspire to increase respect for the individual and aid inclusion of human differences. Apply by April 30th. LULAC National Scholarship Fund The League of United Latin American Citizens offers national scholastic achievement awards, honors awards, and general awards. Grades and academic performance, as well as need, community involvement and leadership are considered of high school seniors. Apply by March 31st. . For full-time undergrad students earning a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical descipline such as electrical engineering, math, or engineering. Applicants must have a min GPA of 3.0 and apply for a 12-week summer internship if scholarship is recieved. Preference is given to underrepresented populations such as women, African-American, Hispanic or Native American studnets. Apply by February 1st. National Association of Black Journalists Scholarships For students interested in pursuing careers in journalism and are student members of NABJ. Scholarships are open to any foreign or American born student, currently attending or entering an accredited university or those who are candidates for graduate school. Check website for current application deadline. National Association of Hispanic Journalists NAHJ’s purpose is to encourage and assist Latino students pursue careers in journalism. Scholarships are offered to rising juniors or seniors in college pursuing a career in English or Spanish language broadcast, print, photo, or online journalism. Apply by April 6th. National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs For African American high school seniors with a min GPA of 3.0. Submit an essay on the topic:“Why Education is Important to Me". Apply by March 1st. National FFA Collegiate Scholarship Program For high school seniors and undergraduates that are a minority FFA member pursuing a degree in agriculture and are part of one the following ethnic groups: African-Americans, Asian Americans or Pacific Islanders, Hispanics, Alaska Natives, or American Indians. Apply by February 15th. For LGBT students from all levels of higher education who have financial need, marginalization, academic excellence, community involvement, leadership and future goals. Apply by February 9th. Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)- Multicultural Affairs Scholarship Program For full-time students of Latino, African-American, Asian, Native American, Alaskan Native, or Pacific Islander ancestry. Students must have at least junior status by the time the scholarship will be used. Memberships with PSRRA or a major or minor in public relations are preferred. Apply by September 21, 2009 Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation HORIZONS/ GRAD Scholarships Scholarships based on need, proven ability, GPA, community/volunteer service and educational desire. Applicants must be CO residents, have a min GPA 2.5 for high school students or 3.0 for continuing students, and must be enrolled in 12 credit hours for HORIZON applicants or 6 hours for GRAD applicants. Apply by March 27th. The Ron Brown Scholar Program seeks to identify African-American high school seniors who will make significant contributions to society. Applicants must excel academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential, participate in community service activities and demonstrate financial need. The applicant must be a US citizen or hold a permanent resident visa card. Current college students are not eligible to apply. Application deadlines 11/1/2009 and 1/9/2010 Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarships for high school seniors from communities who face limited access to educational opportunities. Opportunities include: RMHC scholars for all students; RMHC/Asia for students with at least one parent of Asian-Pacific heritage; RMHC/African-American Future Achievers for students of African American or Black Caribbean heritage; and RMHC/HACER for students with at least one parent of Hispanic heritage. Note: Students may only apply for one scholarship. Please check website in the Fall of 2009 for the application for the 2009/2010 program. The foundation, from its inception, has been dedicated to providing college scholarships for Black/African-American Colorado students needing financial assistance to attend college. Applications accepted January 1, 2010 - March 1, 2010. First In My Family Scholarship- In partnership with the Hispanic College Fund, this scholarship is for Hispanic-American students who are the first in their family to attend college, have financial need, are citizens or full-time residents, are enrolled as full time undergraduates, and have a min GPA of 3.0. Apply by April 15th. American Dream Scholarship- In partnership with the United Negro College Fund, this scholarship is for African Americans, who have financial need, are citizens or full-time residents, are enrolled as full time undergraduates, have a min GPA of 2.5 and who meet Pell Grant eligibility criteria. The Technical Minority Scholarship Program For high academic achieving permanent residents of African American, Asian, Pacific Island, Native American, Native Alaskan, or Hispanic descent. Must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate in the fields of chemistry, info. management, computing & software systems, material science, printing management science, laser optics, physics, or engineering. Apply by September 30th, 2009. United Methodist Higher Education Hoover Lee Scholarship For students from Southeast Asia that are attending United Methodist-related institutions of higher education in the United States and have a min GPA of 3.0. Apply by March 1st. United Methodist Native Alaskan Scholarship Fund Available to Native Alaskan students who have been a member of The United Methodist Church for at least one year, are a US citizen, and have a min. GPA of 3.0. Apply by May 15th. Min 2.5 GPA required. Must demonstrate financial need and complete the FAFSA. Various scholarships available, please check website for application deadlines. For high-school seniors, currently enrolled college students or incoming college students. 50% of scholarships are for ethnic minority or individuals with physical disabilities.
