A. Patrick Charnon Scholarship

For full-time undergraduate students who value tolerance, compassion and respect for all people in their communities, and who have demonstrated their commitments to these values by their actions.  Apply by March 31st, 2010.

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

Essay scholarship available to current undergraduate and high school junior or senior students (ages 16-30).  Answer the question: " What do you see as the long term impact of our current recession on the average family? How might it affect their future decisions?" Apply by June 19, 2010.

AES Engineers

Available to high school seniors or college students (regardless of courses being studied).  Students will need to answer one of the essay questions found on their web site.  Apply by October 6th, 2010.

Alert Magazine

Alert Magazine Drug/Alcohol Abuse Prevention Essay Contest Scholarship is available to high school seniors who have a minimum 2.5 GPA and plan to attend college after graduation. Apply before graduation of your senior year.

AH & LEF Hospitality Scholarships

For students who are enrolled in Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism Management. Also Culinary Arts. Apply by January 1- May 1, 2010.

Self Nominated Scholarships:

  • AH&LEF Incoming Freshman Scholarship- for incoming freshmen with a min. GPA of 2.0.  Preference given to LMP High School graduates.
  • The Ecolab Scholarship Competition- for full-time undergraduate students.
  • Steve Hymans Extended Stay Scholarship- for full and part-time students with a min. GPA of 3.0.  Preference given to students with experience at an extended stay property.

Al's Formal Wear

Participants must be at least 17 years of age and must be registered and currently attending an accredited high school in Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Wyoming, or Texas.  Apply by May 31, 2010.

Ambassadorial Scholarships for Rotary District 5450

Award of up to $23,000 for a year study abroad. Applicants must not be Rotarians and must have completed two years of college or equivalency. Scholarships are intended to help cover round-trip transportation, tuition, fees, room and board expenses, and some educational supplies. Deadlines are dependant on districts.

American Council of Engineering Companies of Colorado (ACEC/CO)

For full-time students in accredited engineering and surveying programs that are entering their junior, senior of 5th year in the fall of 2009. Must be a US citizen and preference is given to those with an understanding of the consulting engineering profession. Each student can be awarded up to $6,000. Apply by Februray 3, 2010.

American Institute of Certified Public Accountants

Multiple scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students pursing degrees in accounting, finance, or information systems. Deadlines ranging from January 12th to April 1st, 2009.

AICPA/Accountents Student Scholarship- For undergraduate and master's level accounting, finance and information systems majors.

AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students

American Meteorological Society (AMS) Freshman Undergraduate Scholarship

For all high school students.  Designed to encourage study in the atmospheric and related sciences. Criteria based on performance in high school, including academic records, recommendation, scores from a national college exam, and a written essay. This can be a two-year scholarship. Apply by February 5, 2010.

American Society of Women Accountants (Denver Chapter)

For declared women accounting majors with financial need who have a 3.0 GPA and have completed 90 quarter hours, including successful completion of Intermediate Accounting I.  Apply by June 1, 2010

Army ROTC Scholarships

Scholarships pay:

  • 100% tuition and mandatory fees
  • A $900 per academic year book allowance
  • A tax-free stipend based on academic status ($300/month - freshman, $350/month - sophomore, $450/month -  junior, $500/month - senior)

Four and three year scholarships are available to high school students. Two and three year scholarships are available to college students.

Association of Energy Engineers Scholarships

Scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students who enrolled in engineering or management programs. Scholarship funds are to be used for courses directly related to energy engineering or energy management preferably within the curriculum leading to a major or minor in energy engineering.  All individual applicants must be nominated by AEE Chapters. Complete and send attached application, along with supporting documents, to Carol Dollard at Carol.Dollard@colostate.edu. Apply by April 10th. 

B. Davis Scholarship

Available to graduate and undergraduate students, as well as high school juniors and seniors.  Write an essay addressing problems on college campuses or about challenges high schoolers face.  Apply by May 28, 2010.

Bank of America Joe Martin Scholarship

For dependents of associates who have been employed by Bank of America for at least 1 year (dependents of deceased, disabled, or retired associates also are eligible.) Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, contributions to school and community, character, and financial need. Application posted December 1, 2009.

Barbara Wiedner & Dorthy Vandercook Memorial Peace Scholarship

For high school seniors or college freshmen.  Describe how you will contribute to a peaceful and just society in the future.  Apply by March 1, 2010.

Best Buy @ 15 Scholarship Program

For high school students, grades 9-12, who demonstrate commitment to and involvement in volunteer community service or work experience, show solid academic performance, and participation or leadership in school activities.  Must have a min GPA of 2.5 and plan to enter a full-time undergraduate course in the fall following graduation. Applications available as of January 2010.

BigSun Scholarship

All student athletes are eligible regardless of the sport they are engaged in - including recreational sports. The student must be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute. Apply by June 24, 2010.

Billiard Education Foundation

The objective of the BEF Academic Scholarship Program is to grant scholarships to high school seniors who have benefited from the sport of billiards and are pursuing a college education. 

BOCES-Frank Kazmierczak Memorial Migrant Scholarship

For students pursuing a career in teaching and who can explain a recent history of migration in immediate family for agricultural employment.  Based on scholastic achievement and financial need.  Apply by February 1, 2010.

Coca-Cola Scholarships

For current high school seniors graduating from a school/program in the U.S. during the academic year in which application is made; must be a U.S. Citizen; U.S. National; U.S. Permanent Resident; Temporary Resident (legalization program); Refugee; Asylee; Cuban-Haitian Entrant; or Humanitarian Parolee; planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution; minimum GPA 3.0 at end of junior year. Applications accepted between August 1 and October 31.

Scholarship drawing for graduating high school seniors who are enrolled in the collegeSTEPS program. For any state resident, excluding New York, Florida, and Rhode Island.  Apply by May 31st, but sign up now to be included in earlier drawings.

Colorado Educational Services and Development Association-Diversity Scholarship

Applicants must be high school seniors and first generation students, or member of an underrepresented ethnic or racial minority, and/or show financial need.  Must be Colorado residents with a min GPA of 2.8. Apply by March 1st. 

Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation

Multiple scholarships available "based on what you know".

Computer Science and Computer Engineering Academic Scholarship

$1000 awarded to a student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Based on academic history and extracurricular activities. Financial need and degree level not considered. Apply by April 1st.

Credit Challenged Scholarship

SpendOnLife offers a scholarship to students who have been denied a student loan due to the recent credit crunch on their personal history.  Students (HS seniors, undergrad, graduates) must be enrolled full-time at a University, be 17-25 years old, and must have been rejected a student loan due to negative credit.  Apply by June 15th.

CREW Network (Commercial Real Estate Women)

Available to junior or senior female students majoring or pursuing a career in commercial real estate and have a min GPA of 3.0. Ten $10,000 scholarships will be awarded as well as a paid internship at a commercial brokerage firm. Apply by May 23rd.

Cutting-Edge Careers Scholarship

Available to current and prospective students studying business administration, computers, criminal justice, health care/nursing, design, digital media arts or culinary arts.  Apply by November 30, 2009.

Datatel Scholars Foundation Scholarship

Davis-Putter Scholarship

Provides grants to students actively working for peace and justice. These need-based scholarships are awarded to those able to do academic work at the university level and who are a part of the progressive movement on campus/in the community.  Apply by April 1st. 

Dell Scholars Program

For high school seniors who demonstrate desire and ability to overcome barriers and to achieve their goals and have financial need. Apply by January 15th.

Denver Tri-Chapters of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International

For a junior woman majoring in Education with a B average, who aspires to be a teacher. Applications can be obtained from the Education Department or from the Office of Financial Aid.  Apply by January 25, 2010.

Department of Energy (DOE) Internship Program

Summer internship program for students pursuing a career with the Dept. of Energy.  Apply by January 31st.

Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Corporation

For college students or high school seniors with a min GPA of 3.0 and who are studying Science, Technology, Engineering or Math.  (Applicants do not have to be of Hispanic descent).

Student Leadership Awards

For students must be majoring in math, computer science, materialscience, engineering or applied science with a min GPA of 3.0.

Horatio Alger Scholarship Program

Available to graduating high school students who have critical financial need, a min. GPA of 2.0, are involved in co-curricular activities, have overcome adversity and are dedicated to pursing a bachelor's degree.  Scholarships are specific for students from various states but can be used for any accredited institution.  Apply by October 30th, 2009.

Institute for Humane Studies

Offers various scholarships, contests, fellowships, and internships for students seeking professional experience in public policy, journalism, film and production.  Multiple deadlines in December and January.

Institute of Management Accountants

Scholarships offered to undergraduate and graduate students who are IMA Student Members, have a min. GPA of 3.0, and are pursuing a career in management accounting, financial management, or information. Must carry 12 credits per semester.  Apply by February 15th.

Jeannette Rankin Foundation
For women, at least 35 years of age who are pursuing a technical or vocational education, an associate's degree, or a first bachelor's degree and are low-income according to the U.S. Department of Labor's Lower Living Standard. Recipients are selected based on their goals, plan for reaching those goals, challenges they may have faced and financial situation. Applications accepted for 2010 on November 1st.

Journyx Excellence In Project Accounting Philosophy Scholarship

Write an essay on "time tracking" for a chance to win $500.  Applications can be submitted starting September 1, 2009.

"LIFE Lessons" Scholarship

The Life Health Insurance Foundation for Education scholarship program benefits students who have suffered the death of a parent or guardian. Students submit an essay or a video describing the impact that losing a parent has had on their life. Check in early 2009 for new requirements. Applications available in March.

Mary Scofield Scholarship for the Advancement of Single Mothers

$750 schoolarship for single mothers who wish to advance their education by attending college. Applications available in Financial Aid Office. Apply by April 30th.

Military Children Scholarship Program

For students who have a parent/guardian in the military. Check back in November for the 2010 Program.

Military Education Scholarship Program

Available to students who are current and prospective ROTC program students, active-duty military personnel with plans to attend college, honorably discharged veterans of the US military, or are sons or daughters of veterans or active-duty military. Scholarship contest will resume for Fall 2009 on October 1st.

Mensa Education and Research Foundation Scholarships

Available to students who are currently a resident of a participating American Mensa Local Group's area.  Winners are selected solely on the content of the submitted essay.  Applications will be available in September.

Microsoft Scholarship Program

For full-time undergrad students earning a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical descipline such as electrical engineering, math, or engineering.  Applicants must have a min GPA of 3.0 and apply for a 12-week summer internship if scholarship is recieved.  Preference is given to underrepresented populations such as women, African-American, Hispanic or Native American studnets.  Apply by February 1st, 2010. 

National Institutes of Health

Submit an essay which describes applicant's career, vocational, or academic goal toward which the scholarship is to provide aid. Awards range from $300 - $1,000.

Applications for the 2010-2011 school year will be available in the fall.

National Organization for Women Poster Contest

For all current female students.  Create a poster to be used as part of a national campaign, 2010 Love Your Body Campaign and the Now Foundation, that challenges the media's use of violent, drug-addicted, starved, surgically-enhanced images of women.  Apply by December 1, 2009.

National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation Scholarships

For students pursuing a degree in the restaurant and or food service-related program. Awards for current undergraduate and high school seniors.  Multiple deadlines.

National Wild Turkey Federation Scholarship

Available to high school seniors who support the preservation of the hunting tradition and actively participate in hunting sports. Minimum 3.0 GPA, be involved in school activities, and demonstrate community involvement and ability as a leader.  Apply by January 1st.

NSPE Educational Foundation

Padgett Business Services Scholarship

For high school seniors who are a dependent of a business owner who employs fewer than 20 people, owns at least 10% of the stock or capital in the business, and is active in the day-to-day operations of the business.  Apply by March 1st. 

Pat Tillman Foundation Scholarship

Leadership Through Action™ Tillman Military Scholarship

Eligible students include: veteran and active service members of both pre- and post-9/11 service;service members who wish to start, finish, or further their education; those whose benefits have run out or exceeded need; service members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserve; or service members pursuing undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, 2-year, 4-year, public, private, vocational, and trade degrees or certifications. Unmet financial need, educational and career ambitions, length of service, personal achievement, essay question responses, and a demonstration of service to others in the community and a desire to continue such service will be considered in the application process. Peterson's "What Makes U Special?" Scholarship Contest

A chance to win up to $5,000 for college by submitting a video that will be featured on YouTube explaining "What Makes U Special?" Scholarship is available to legal US residents ages 16 or older.  Apply by July 31st.

Pfizer's Epilepsy Scholarship Award

For students who have overcome the challenges of epilepsy, use a doctor's care, have been successful in school, have done will in outside activities, and have shown a desire to do well in college or graduate school. Available to high school seniors, undergraduates, or seniors applying to graduate school.  Apply by May 1st. 

Political Blogging Scholarship

Presidential Forum on Renewable Energy

The Presidential Forum on Renewable Energy is sponsoring a student essay contest that will engage college students in the issues of renewable energy, sustainability, and conservation.  Open to undergraduate part and full-time students between the ages of 18-24.  Apply by February 1st.

The Sallie Mae 9/11 Education Fund- Open to children of those who were killed or permanently disabled as a result of the terrorist attacks and who are enrolled as full-time undergraduate students.  Apply by May 15th. 

Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY Awards)

Awarded to 25 high school seniors based on academic performance, athletic excellece, leadership skills, and community service. Apply by March 10th.

Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowships

For talented students in academic programs relevant to international affairs, political and economic analysis, administration, management, and science policy who have an interest in pursuing a Foreign Service career in the U.S. Department of State. The Program develops a source of trained men and women from academic disciplines representing the skill needs of the Department, who are dedicated to representing America's interests abroad. United Methodist Scholarships
