It can take 7-10 business days for DU to receive your FAFSA. To see if we've received your application, review the "Financial Aid Requirements" box. If you see the FAFSA listed there--with a green check mark in the "Status" column--we have received your application. (Be sure you are viewing the correct aid year.)

If you were selected for verification, we will need a Federal Verification Worksheet and an IRS Tax Return Transcript before we can send you a financial aid award offer. It can take up to 3 business days for your account to reflect submitted documents. To verify we've received your materials, review the "Financial Aid Requirements" box. If there are green check marks* in the "Status" column next to your requirements, then we have received your documents. If there is a red flag next to any requirement, it's either still required or incomplete. Contact our office if you have questions.

*Please note that the "Verification" requirement will still have a red flag--even if we have received all necessary documents--until your account has been reviewed by an advisor. There is no further action need on your part, however.

Once you have accepted your financial aid award, there may be additional requirements you need to complete before your aid can pay into your student account (particularly if you are borrowing student loans). To see if there are unsatisfied requirements, review the "Financial Aid Requirements" box. If there are any red flags listed in the "Status" column, further action is required. Click on that item to learn more.

You can also see a list of your requirements in more detail by going to your Financial Aid Profile. To do so, click on "Financial Aid Profile" while on the Student tab and then choose "Documents, Requirements and Eligibility Status." After selecting the appropriate aid year, review each requirement, it's current status, when that status was last updated and the instructions for completing that requirement.

Note: If you recently completed a requirement, your webCentral account will not be updated instantly. Please allow up to two business days for your account to reflect this update.

Typically, provided all requirements are satisfied, your financial aid will disburse to your student account no sooner than 10 days prior to the start of every term. Refunds are not generated by the Bursar's office until 2-3 days after disbursement. Learn more about billing and financial aid disbursement.

You can see the expected disbursement dates of your financial aid by going to your Financial Aid Profile. To see these dates, click on "Financial Aid Profile" while on the Student tab and then choose "View your Aid Payment Schedule." The "Expected Date" is the date on which you can expect your financial aid to pay to your DU student account. This is not the date you will receive a refund if you are expecting one. You can also review how much is expected to pay, as well as how much has disbursed to date for past terms.
