Financial Aid 101:
Checking the Status of Your Application

University of Denver Financial Aid

If you've already started the process of applying for financial aid, you can check the status of your application by following the steps below. Not sure what you need to do to apply for aid? Review the Application Checklist

Logging into PioneerWeb
All students who have applied for admission to the University of Denver have access to DU's student portal, PioneerWeb. To log in:

  • Go to
  • Enter your DU ID and Password.
Your DU ID is {{Banner-ID}}. If this is your first time logging in, your password will be your 6-digit birthday in the MMDDYY format.
  • Go to the Applicants tab.

If you are admitted to DU, the Applicants tab will become the Admitted Students tab, but the rest of the login process will remain the same.

Viewing Your Requirements
Throughout the application process, various requirements may be added to your account. When you log into PioneerWeb, you'll see a box that says "Financial Aid Requirements." Here, you'll be able to see if we've received your CSS PROFILE or FAFSA, or have any outstanding documents you need to submit.

Each item listed will have either a green check mark, a clock, or a red flag next to it.

  • A red flag means we are missing an item to complete your financial aid package. Click on that requirement to learn what you need to do.
  • clock means we have received the document, but are still reviewing it. There is no further action you need to take, however.
  • green check mark means that requirement has been received and processed. You're good to go!

Be sure to periodically review your financial aid requirements so you don't miss an important step in the application process.

Additional Information
A small number of students will be selected for a process called verification. If you are selected, we must verify that the information you submitted on your financial aid application is correct, which means we'll need to collect additional documentation from you before we can create your award package. If we need anything, we'll notify you via email. So make sure you read (and follow up on) anything you receive from us!
