We are ALWAYS looking for volunteers!
It is never too early or too late to sign up to volunteer for Night Owls. We sign up volunteers on an on-going basis. You can volunteer to be a special friend for either children with special needs or children who are siblings of children with special needs. You can also help run activities or be floaters who help with a variety of tasks throughout a Night Owls evening.
No experience is needed to be a volunteer. Volunteers must participate in one of the volunteer training sessions, which are currently scheduled as needed. The 1 ½ hour training sessions are usually held on a weeknight to accommodate the most people’s schedules. Volunteers will be provided training on the program, activities, safety, and best practices on interacting with both children with special needs and typically developing children.
If you would like to volunteer, please complete the following two forms:
Once we receive these forms, we will be in touch with you regarding volunteer training, getting your fingerprints taken, and your first date to start volunteering. You must have your fingerprints on file at the Fisher Early Learning Center. Therefore, even if you have already had them done, and/or had a background check done, unfortunately we must do them again to meet the Fisher Early Learning Center’s requirements and licensing regulations.
Please complete all registrations, sign and date them as necessary, and return them to:

Please note within the Volunteer Registration form, you can agree to participate in the evaluation of this program. We hope and encourage all volunteers (and families) to participate as this will serve as the beginning of research that will be used to establish Night Owls as a permanent program as well as inform standards for respite care for families with children with special needs.
