The office establishes and develops institutional,
corporate and governmental relationships in the international
sphere.
Current
initiatives include the following programs:
The "Understanding America Programs" are based
on immersive, award-winning models designed to enable bridges
of transnational understanding. Delivered either in Denver
or abroad, these programs are tailored to the needs of emerging
leaders and decision makers.
"Understanding America" has a 10 year
history of distinguished programing in Japan, Korea, Vietnam,
Taiwan, Poland, and China.
The
International Summer Institute offers an enriching
experience for young adults, 17-25 years of age. Focused on
the realities and myths of the American west, this program
presents opportunity for cross-cultural exchange, experiential
learning, and exploration of the magnificent Rocky Mountain
region.
Programs
for teachers of English in non-English speaking countries
are 2-4 months in length and custom designed, emphasizing
conversational English skills and teaching methodology. These
programs bring participants into close contact with American
school systems and the cultural fabric of the United States.
The
International Education Corps is a group of senior
experts in a broad range of academic and professional disciplines
who serve as volunteer advisors in developing countries of
the world.
This
