The Language Fund
The primary concern voiced by the Josef Korbel School of International Studies students through the 2003-2004 school year was the challenge of acquiring language skills while at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. The Class of 2004 took action on this issue by launching the Josef Korbel School of International Studies "Class of 2004 Language Fund."
The Language Fund's purpose is to provide fellowships for graduate students from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies in pursuit of professional language training abroad or in the U.S. Contributions from the Language Fund help defray the student cost for intensive language study. Preference for funding will be given to those students who choose to study where their chosen language is an official language of the country.
Criteria for Application
The applicant must be a student enrolled in a graduate degree program at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. The applicant must have secured a position in an approved intensive language study program either domestically or abroad ( e.g. a credit-granting program facilitated by a U.S. or international university, the School for International Training (SIT), the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE)).
