Professor d'Estrée is a the Director of the Center on Rights Development (CORD), Chair of the DU Task Force on Modern Slavery, and Senior Fellow in the Institute on Globalization and Security (IGLOS). His primary passion is human trafficking, modern slavery and forced labor, including child soldiers. He was appointed as a Special Rapporteur to UN.GIFT (United Nations Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking) to explore the role of faith communities in the anti-human trafficking movement. His other interests include international humanitarian law of armed conflict (IHL/LOAC) and the place of civil liberties in national and homeland security. He is also the Buddhist Chaplain at DU.
