Haider A. Khan is currently a professor of economics at the Graduate School of International Studies, University of Denver and at the Graduate School of Economics, University of Tokyo.He was also a distinguished visiting fellow at the Asian Development Bank Institute, Tokyo. He received his Ph.D. from Cornell University. His major areas of expertise are economic and econometric modeling, economic theory, international and development economics and political economy. His work ranges from economy-wide modeling of technology and capital flows to the political and economic theories of democracy and justice. He has published more than ten books and one hundred articles in professional journals.

Dr. Khan was at the Asian Development Bank during the Asian Financial crisis. Later, he moved to the newly founded Asian Development Bank Institute in Tokyo as a visiting scholar. He has also visited Tilburg University, London School of Economics, Cornell University, and University of Tokyo among others. His most recent books on globalization and well-being are Innovation and Growth in East Asia: The Future of Miracles, and Global Markets and Financial Crisis. In addition, his recent article in the Oxford Development Studies and his book chapter in Modernity and Technology (The MIT Press) examine both the technical and ideological aspects of globalization from a critical perspective.
