Tom Laetz has over 30 years of professional experience that includes conducting project, program and policy reviews of health, energy and environmental issues in the United States and internationally; establishing and supervising research staffs in both program evaluation and health care policy assessment; authoring peer-reviewed journal articles and numerous government reports; presenting conference paper; organizing workshops; and administering state and federal grant programs. He is presently employed as a Senior Policy Analyst with the General Accounting Office (GAO), an investigative and evaluation organization for the US Congress. Tom is experienced in program and policy research design and report writing; data collection and analysis techniques, particularly applied to international projects; global health issues, such as immunization, health surveillance and infrastructure needs; comparative analysis of international health care systems; risk assessment and management approaches; and urban and regional planning. His current research interests include building institutional and technical capacities in developing countries.

Professor Laetz's most recent and pertinent affiliations include past president of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Society for Risk Analysis, advisory board member of the Center for Global Health, University of Colorado, and advisory board member to the global health concentration, University of Denver. He has led efforts to publish over 50 government reports, professional papers and journal articles over the last two decades.
