Professor Roberts has practiced law fulltime since 1979 with Holme Roberts & Owen LLP, a Denver-based international law firm, where she established HRO's first International Practice Group and led development of that practice, including establishment of HRO's first foreign offices in London, Moscow and Kiev (1983-1997). Her practice focused in areas of litigation, natural resource and tax before developing expertise in international tax through Harvard and in international transactions through practice in Fulbright & Jaworski's London office. She served for over ten years as HRO's representative to an international network of law firms comprised of approximately 20 premier US and European firms in 16 countries. She was a partner with HRO from 1985-2001, and has remained of counsel from 2001 to the present.
Her practice has focused entirely on international transactions since 1982, and has included advising US and foreign clients on a broad range of critical issues affecting transnational business transactions. Professor Roberts has assisted clients with transactions in or involving countries in Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the Pacific Rim.
