Advising

Academic advising for INTS majors is essential. Advising assists students in effectively planning their schedule in order to stay on track for graduation and to avoid future problems. Moreover, advising provides students with essential information on available courses, study abroad, service-learning, internships, graduation requirements, and extracurricular activities.

The BA Program Office in INTS advises both majors and minors on program requirements, tracks academic progress, and verifies the completion of INTS major requirements for graduation. Transfer of credit from study abroad must also be approved by a designated advisor.

Students are required to meet with an advisor each quarter during "advising week," the week before registration begins. Advisors will release alternate PIN information for registration to each student after advising has occurred. Group advising sessions may also take place during advising week and are recommended to students who are not in need of individual advising. Alternate PINs are also distributed during group advising sessions. Please be aware that INTS only receives PIN information for students that have formally declared a major in INTS. First-year students will receive PIN information from their First Year Seminar Advisor for the duration of the year, even if students are declared INTS majors.

For advising matters related to general education requirements at the University of Denver and/or other academic issues unrelated to the INTS major/minor, please contact the Office of Academic Advising at 303-871-2455.

Who are my advisors in INTS?

Students may contact either Deana N. Ahmad (damad@du.edu) or Sally Kwitkowski (Sally.Kwitkowski@du.edu) in order to receive INTS advising. Students are encouraged to send an email stating the purpose of the requested meeting, and include the dates and times they are available to meet. The advisor will then set-up an appointment based on availability and respond as quickly as possible.
