The New Start Clinic at the Graduate School of Professional Psychology's Professional Psychology Clinic (PPC) is designed to meet a growing need in our community for integrated and comprehensive mental health services.
The New Start Clinic Offers:
- individual therapy
- group therapy
- community resource support
- coordination with other providers
- psychiatry (medication) services
We create a custom tailored and collaborative treatment plan with every person we work with that incorporates a combination of the above services. Our objective is to provide these services to community members who may need our support the most, whether this is based on the severity of symptoms or lack of access to quality care.
The purpose and functioning of the New Start Clinic is consistent with the overall vision of the University of Denver as being dedicated to the public good. As a clinic that provides low-cost services on a sliding fee scale, we are dedicated to serving the underserved, vulnerable, and marginalized members of our community. These members include but are not limited to: low income individuals, the elderly, victims of abuse, those with severe mental illness, and those with disabilities.
Getting help is not a sign of weakness.
We believe firmly that mental illness does not define a human being. We strive to combat the stigma associated with mental illness at a community level and support each person in dealing with the impact that stigma has had on his or her life. Our goal is to improve quality of life and foster vitality for our clients in the areas of life that matter the most to them.
