A Celebration of Women Writers

Our goal is to promote awareness of the breadth and variety of women's writing.  The Celebration provides a comprehensive listing of links to biographical and bibliographical information about women writers, and complete published books written by women.

This is a really unique site specializing in older and little-known works by women.  You can search by author, century (back to 3000 BC), country (there are 122 of them!) or ethnicity.

Distinguished Women of Past and Present

This site has biographies of women who contributed to our culture in many different ways.  There are writers, educators, scientists, heads of state, politicians, civil rights crusaders, artists, entertainers, and others.  Some were alive hundreds of years ago and some are living today.  We've heard of some of them, while many more have been ignored by history book writers.

Women and Social Movements

Organized around a collection of more than 600 primary documents, the Women and Social Movements website offers new ways for students, teachers, and scholars to study American History. This site is a project of the Center for the Historical Study of Women and Gender at the State University of New York at Binghamton.

Women's Hall of Fame

In 1969, a group of women and men of Seneca Falls created the National Women's Hall of Fame, believing that the contribution of American women deserved a permanent home in the small village where it all began.   The Hall is a shrine to some of the greatest women in the history of this country and a tribute that grows annually with each induction ceremony as we learn to appreciate more about the wonderful contributions that women make to our civilization.
