9 a.m. | Roadmap to a Rewarding Career

This panel presentation explores DU’s Career Center. Parents will have the opportunity to review the center’s services and events that are designed to support undergraduate students by helping them gain the maximum benefit from their academic and personal experiences, as well as hear from students who’ve used the Career Center to secure internships and other meaningful career experiences.
10 a.m. | Study Abroad and the Cherrington Global Scholars Initiative
Davis Auditorium
Featuring Carol Fairweather, director of study abroad, this session allows parents to learn about the programs available to DU students and the initiative for an affordable study abroad. Students will share study abroad experiences and answer questions.
11 a.m. | Chasing Rabbits
Lindsay Auditorium
This discussion with Professor Corey Ciocchetti, from the Department of Business Ethics and Legal Studies, encourages people of all ages to chase the truly important things in life, such as a solid character, strong personal relationships and a sense of contentment. These “real rabbits” are compared to worldly types of success, such as excessive wealth, popularity and prestige. Audience members leave with a better sense of what it takes to develop character, set priorities and gain a big-picture perspective.

Join other single or divorced parents of DU students and share your thoughts, concerns and challenges. Discussion will be facilitated by Terri Lucero, PhD, the director of Counseling Services at DU’s Health and Counseling Center. For your convenience, this session immediately follows the Parents’ Breakfast with the Chancellor.

10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. | Club Cycling Homecoming Ride
Departing from the Student Programs Tower at Stapleton Tennis Pavilion
Experienced cyclists are invited to join the DU Club Cycling team on a ride to Cherry Creek Reservoir and back, weather permitting. The route will include city streets and Cherry Creek State Park roads. Minimum distance is 16 miles with the option to add a 9-mile loop around the reservoir. The Homecoming parade has never been bigger! Open to the general public, the parade route will pass by all major DU residence locations. Parade goers can be sure to catch the parade as it travels up Josephine Street, down Iliff Avenue and along High Street, making its final stretch down Buchtel Boulevard. The judging booth will be on High Street near Centennial Halls. -
