The Voltaire Society

The Voltaire Society is a club sponsored by the Honors Program and run by Honors students. Named after the cantankerous French philosopher, the Voltaire Society sponsors a number of social, cultural, and intellectual events each quarter which help you to "unleash your inner nerd."  The current list of events is below.  If you have ideas and would like to help plan Voltaire's events, please contact Shawn Alfrey or student organizers Maggie Sava or Bryce Anderson-Gregson  Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Broomball Team - you know who you are!
  • Speaker Series - Invite Your Profession
  • Game Night
  • Film Series
  • Halloween event

In the Fall Voltaire got Ice cream at Liks and then went to Chihuly at the Botanic Gardens. Winter concluded with a night at the Oscars.  For Spring, trips to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science "Mythic Creatures" exhibit, Dining Out for Life, and a Beach-themed film series, beginning with Jaws.  See the Newsletter, check your email, or contact Voltaire for more information.
