Extreme Academics Schedule Fall 2011

Meetings will be on Wednesdays from 2:00-4:00.  Please feel free to come late or leave early if you need to.  All meetings except the first and the final banquet will take place in Mary Reed 1.

September 21:  Introduction and Opportunities Fair (in the Craig Hall Community Room)

September 28:  Discussion and workshop on presenting yourself and developing your professional identity with Professor Alison Schofield

October 5:  Discussion and workshop on written expression and proposals with Doug Hesse and Shawn Alfrey

October 12:  Panel and Round Table:  what graduate schools, reviewers and evaluators look for, with Professors Eleanor McNees, George Potts, and Jack Sheinbaum

October 19:  No meeting

October 26:  Peer discussion and one-on-one with directors Alfrey, Helstosky, and McIntosh

November 2:  Next Steps?  Formulating your own plan or project

November 4:  Graduate Student panel:  DU alums discuss graduate school - applying, getting in, and what it's like once they're there

November 4, 6:00-8:00 pm:  Banquet with guest speaker Annalise Kinkel
