Housing for Second-Year Students

 

Nelson is a recently built, bright, airy building for second-year students. It provides much of the housing for sophomores in DU's Living and Learning Communities (LLCs). There are several theme rooms throughout the building designed to support LLC meetings and activities. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors have community kitchens and study lounges.  The apartments on the fifth floor include kitchens.

Nelson's unique features include a central open-air courtyard, a grand dining hall, an outdoor dining patio and meeting rooms for student organizations and activities.

Nelson suites consist of two to four bedrooms that share a bathroom and a common entry space. Many of the larger suites have a double vanity located outside the toilet/shower area. Most suites do not have kitchens, although each suite includes a mini refrigerator/freezer/microwave. Nelson offers thirteen deluxe suites on the fifth floor, which include a full kitchen, a living room, and two to four bedrooms.
