Experience Residential Life
The University of Denver's welcoming and vibrant on-campus community regards its strong bonds and active lifestyle as an important part of its mission to guide students to positions of leadership and success. For this reason, living on campus is an important part of the University experience and students are required to live on campus and have a meal plan for their first two years. It's your chance to enjoy life in an around-the-clock academic community that values learning, sharing and diversity.
For most students, living on campus is one of the most memorable parts of their time as a DU Pioneer. Residential life is about much more than where you sleep:
- Making friends--You'll eat, study, work and live along with students from around the world. The people you meet will come from different places, experiences, and cultural backgrounds, but they'll all be sharing the DU college experience together.
- Community life--Residential life is designed to build a community of students who work and play together, and get involved with the University. All the halls are built around common spaces like lounges and kitchens, and floors plan social events, like trips to downtown Denver, service projects and hockey games.
- A comfortable home--In residence life as well as in the classroom, DU maintains its commitment to personal attention and choice. To meet student needs, the University of Denver offers a variety of living environments-everything from traditional residence halls to apartments. Our modern, safe buildings offer all the amenities you need, from laundry rooms with plenty of machines to convenience stores for late-night snacking.
- Finding new ways to learn--In residence halls, you have opportunities to learn 24/7. You can join the substance free lifestyle floor or a living and learning community to live, study and go to social and academic events with people who share your interests. And the halls host talks on everything from computer technology to how to stay healthy.
- Healthy eating--Your dining experience is more than great food. It is community experience centered on culinary expertise, fresh ingredients, healthy options and a shared sense of environmental and social responsibility. Our team is committed to creating the best possible dining experience. Join us to experience the comfort, convenience, outstanding food and inviting atmosphere designed especially for you. - Smoke Free--The University of Denver is committed to the health of our community. Beginning January 1, 2010 DU will be a 100% smoke free campus, meaning the use of smoke-producing products will not be permitted indoors or outdoors on campus property. Smoke Free DU
