Residential Education

Most undergraduates are in class for about 16 hours each week. That means you spend 90% of your time outside of the traditional learning environment. In the residence halls, you have the chance to use that time to challenge yourself in new ways, to integrate learning into your life.

We have a number of Living and Learning Communities that connect the residential aspect of learning to the academic element. In addition to living together on the same floor, students attend one class each quarter that is focused on the theme of the community. For example, residents of the International Living and Learning Community would live together on the second floor of Centennial Halls South, and all be in a class where they will explore current events through the lens of the international media.

Our Honors Program also offers students the chance to live and learn together. And though our two theme floors aren't built around academic programs, they bring together students committed to the same values and philosophies.
