Relationship with the University of Denver
The Institute for the Development of Gifted Education and the Ricks Center for Gifted Children are integral parts of the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver.
Ranked among the top 100 universities in the United States, the University provides faculty consultants, fundraising support, technology services, mentorships and classroom opportunities for Ricks Center students. Moreover, the University regularly offers opportunities to collaborate with other leaders in education.
Thanks in part to the close relationship among the University, the Institute and the Center, the Institute/Ricks Center partnership is the only one in the United States with programs rooted in each of the four foundational elements of gifted education: school, curriculum development, outreach and research.
Morgridge College of Education
The Morgridge College of Education is committed to preparing a new generation of professionals working in a variety of educational arenas.
This commitment is demonstrated through research, theory, practice and innovation. At the MCE, we maximize the power of learning through collaboration and community engagement. Students enjoy the University of Denver's innovative technology support, such as CISCO TelePresence video conferencing rooms and Promethean interactive whiteboards to improve learning outcomes.

Ricks Center for gifted children
The Ricks Center for Gifted Children at the University of Denver is an exemplary program designed for gifted children. The Ricks Center provides nationally recognized gifted education to approximately 250 students—ranging from ages 3 years old to eighth grade—who show exceptional, differentiated abilities and learning needs.
