Cherrington Global Scholars
The University of
Denver has introduced the Cherrington Global Scholars (CGS)
Program, which allows eligible students to study abroad at no additional cost beyond that of a term at DU,
apart from variable personal expenses such as local transportation, books, and optional excursions.
Cherrington Global Scholars receive benefits that help off-set additional
costs associated with studying abroad on a quarter-length or longer program, such as round-trip international airfare
and student visa application fees. This is an exciting opportunity for students and a dramatic statement
of the University of Denver's commitment to internationalizing undergraduate education. The CGS Program is
the University's primary—but not the only—study abroad opportunity for undergraduates. It reflects
a campus-wide commitment—in curriculum development, financing, and academic programming—to fostering
international study, research, and outreach.
Students who meet the requirements for CGS may choose from the Cherrington-eligible DU Programs presented on this website. DU Programs are the result of formal agreements between DU and partner institutions, or in a few cases, led directly by DU faculty.
The CGS costs for a single quarter or semester DU study abroad program are:
(For current DU fees, please see the Bursar's website.)
- DU tuition
- DU housing*
- DU meals*
- DU technology fee (charged per quarter if semester crosses over two DU quarters)
* If a DU Program does not include meals; you will not be charged for DU meals. In the rare case a program does not include housing, you will not be charged for DU housing.
Generally, all DU institutional aid including housing grants, along with federal or state financial aid other than work-study, will apply to the cost of a DU Program.
