The Distinctive Cherrington Advantage
Qualifying students spend their quarter/semester/year studying abroad at no additional cost beyond that of a term at DU, excluding variable personal expenses such as local transportation, books, and optional excursions. Choosing from DU Partner Programs on six continents, Cherrington Global Scholars will pay DU tuition and fees, as well as room and board when included in the program. All federal, state, and DU institutional aid including housing grants are applicable to all DU Partner Programs. Because DU is a quarter-system institution and most overseas programs last a semester, the majority of students receive a semester abroad for the cost of a quarter at DU!
Cherrington Global Scholar benefits include:
- Study abroad application fee
- Study abroad program fee
- A stipend towards the cost of transportation to and from the study abroad host city
- Insurance mandated by the host country or university
- Reimbursement for visa application fees, residence permits, or permits to study, and foreign airport entry or exit fees that are not included in the student's travel fare. Receipts eligible for reimbursement must be submitted to the Office of International Education (OIE) within 60 days of the end of the program.
