Many times spouses of DU international students come to the United States and feel they have no sense of belonging. While international students are busy with school, spouses often do not have the opportunity to work or study.
Through the Spouses Club, spouses are welcomed into the Denver community through volunteer opportunities and English conversation groups. International Spouses meet new people and come together to learn more about American life.
The Spouses Club also brings spouses and their children together for social events such as the Children's Halloween Party, the African Extravaganza and the Festival of Nations. Monthly teas and coffees are also planned at the I-House for conversation.
The building of relationships between spouses and persons in Denver results in an understanding of different cultures, languages, customs and embraces families from different cultures into the Denver community.
