A native of California, I have lived in Denver since 2000.  I began teaching English in 1990 at the University of California, Santa Cruz & Berkeley.  I lived in beautiful Finland for many years, first teaching English at a private language school and later at the University of Turku.  Additionally, I taught in Japan for two years at a private college.  Here in sunny Colorado, I have taught at the University of Colorado, Denver; and at Spring International.

My favorite part of teaching is meeting students from many different countries and learning about their fascinating cultures.  I have traveled to many wonderful countries in Europe and Asia.  I speak English and Finnish fluently, and can understand some Japanese and French.

In addition to teaching, I have also written several textbooks for teaching English to non-native speakers.  My favorite subject to teach is writing!

I love teaching at the ELC and look forward to meeting many new students.
