Hi Everyone!  I was born and raised in Kentucky, and received my undergraduate degree in English and Spanish Language and Literature from Transylvania University  (no, we aren’t ALL vampires!).  While I was still an undergrad, I began volunteer tutoring English to Hispanic immigrants and I quickly realized how much I enjoyed being in the classroom.  I eventually decided to move to Colorado in 2005 to get my Master’s degree from the University of Colorado in Linguistically Diverse Education.  I have had the pleasure of working with students from around the world (30 different countries and counting!) in different university programs in both Colorado and Kentucky and I have also spent time teaching abroad in Mexico, where I finally got to practice my Spanish!

Now that I am back in Colorado, I am very excited to be working at DU.  The students and other teachers are wonderful, and I enjoy my job every single day.  When I am not in the classroom, I can be found outside playing in the mountains!  I love to hike in the summer and snowboard in the winter!  I also love to take pictures of all the beautiful scenery in Colorado and the interesting buildings and neighborhoods of Denver.
