The
ELC offers its students a variety of learning experiences throughout
each quarter. Field trips are taken by the entire student body and/or
separate classes to the nearby Rocky Mountains and other local attractions
such as museums, the Mint, musical and theatrical productions, IMAX,
and bowling. The ELC also holds fun activities throughout the quarter,
such as picnics, Halloween parties, Valentine's Day parties, ice
skating and potlucks.
Class
visits to local schools, retirement homes, businesses, tv stations,
newspaper offices and supermarkets provide good learning experiences
which coordinate with in-class assignments. Conversation Hours provide
opportunities for students to practice their speaking and listening
skills.
ELC
students can participate in the University of Denver's intramural
teams such as volleyball, soccer, and basketball.
Our
Graduation Ceremony and Brunch is a special end-of-quarter celebration
for all students which is held in honor of the students who have
successfully completed Level 5 and GPP. These Level 5 and GPP graduates
receive Graduation Certificates at this ceremony, and students who
have had perfect attendance and/or have made "A" grades also get
special recognition.
