I grew up in the beautiful mountains of Colorado where I developed a deep appreciation of the natural world. My love of international travel and language began when I was 16 and I lived and studied in Barcelona, Spain. Ever since, I have been very fortunate to participate in many diverse multicultural exchanges, both educationally and professionally. I have studied in Bolivia and Guatemala, and I worked in Thailand as a Peace Corps volunteer for two years. These experiences have helped me understand the challenges and joys of living abroad. Also, I believe being an adult learner of other languages (Thai, Spanish and American Sign) has added to my understanding of the English language, how languages are learned and how to teach ESL effectively.

Denver has been my home for the past ten years. I worked in the Denver zoo's education department and discovered I enjoy teaching. I decided to get my professional teacher license and master's in education with an emphasis in bilingual/ESL. Before joining the ELC, I taught in an English language acquisition classroom for several years. I find teaching at the ELC to be very interesting and rewarding. It is a true honor and a pleasure to be a part of this unique community

On a personal note, I enjoy traveling, camping, snowboarding, canoeing, and mainly, exploring new places with my husband and two young children. Welcome to the ELC. I look very forward to seeing you!
