I am originally from Michigan and completed my undergraduate degree at Western Michigan University in 2003. I then moved out west to live/work in Grand Teton National Park and later moved to Colorado in 2005. I completed my Masters Degree in TEFL/TESL at Colorado State University. I have taught ESL in various contexts including Denver Public Schools, Front Range Community College, local community centers, and most recently at the Intensive English Program at Colorado State University.
I've always loved the outdoors/mountains and try to go hiking, camping, skiing, backpacking, and travelling as much as possible. My interest in language and culture began while learning Spanish in high school and has continued to grow the more I travel and teach students of other cultures. My favorite thing about teaching is working with students and learning about their cultures. I'm very happy to be teaching at the ELC at University of Denver and look forward to many great experiences with the wonderful staff and students here.
