I'm originally from El Paso, Texas, though I lived for many years in Santa Barbara, California. It was there that I began teaching ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) with EF International Language Schools. At the same time, I earned my MFA in Creative Writing, which has been a life-long passion of mine. While I still write creatively in my free time, my real passion is teaching English to international students. That is why I earned my CELTA certificate from Cambridge ESOL while I was teaching in South Korea, and why I plan to earn my DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) in the years ahead.

I think teaching English to international students is one of the most rewarding professions. As a teacher, I have met people from all over the world, learning a great deal from them about culture and language. Every day I teach, I feel like I am travelling to different countries because of the wonderful interactions with my students. It's cliché to say this, but I truly learn just as much from them as they learn from me. I am constantly reminded of how lucky I am to work with such kind and intelligent students.

I hope to see you in class one day!
