I was born and raised in the mid-western state of Michigan, and I moved to Denver during the fall of 2009. In Michigan, I attended Central Michigan University, CMU, where I received my B.S. in Education. German and Earth Science were my majors and Outdoor and Environmental Education was my minor. While at CMU, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Germany. I spent one semester in Bielefeld, Germany, where I was enrolled at an intensive German Language program. Later, I returned to Germany for a full year and studied at the Justus Liebig Universität in Giessen. After graduation, I became a Peace Corps Volunteer in Albania. During my two years in Albania, I taught an after-school English program to students of all ages. My time abroad has provided me with the opportunity to travel extensively in Western Europe, the Balkans and the Middle East. I enjoy every aspect of learning about other cultures.
