My family is from Hawai'i but I grew up in northern California and Ossining, New York. My interest in different countries and cultures as well as my multi-ethnic background inspired me to study International Affairs at the University of Colorado Boulder. During the summer between my junior and senior year, I studied abroad in Aix en Provence, France. While in France, I studied French, journalism and photography. I earned my Bachelor's degree in the Spring of 2008 in International Affairs with an emphasis on the European Union. In my free time, I practice photography, dance hula (the native dance of Hawai'i) and take advantage of all Colorado has to offer, such as hiking and snowboarding.
