Hello.
I hope that I get to meet you soon. I have been a teacher at the
English Language Center since 1984, and I have taught almost every
class that the Center offers. It would be hard for me to tell you
which class that I like to teach most because it is not only the
course material but also the students that make my job so enjoyable.
As
you can see, I studied Spanish for many years, and as part of my
education, I spent nine months studying in Madrid, Spain. I think
that this helps me understand the difficulties and the pleasures
that international students experience. I have also done some traveling
in Europe, and I have visited Guatemala several times.
Have
you ever been to Colorado? I grew up in Ohio, but I moved to Denver
quite a few years ago. If you decide to study in Colorado, you will
find that most people here are friendly and helpful, and many of
them spend a great deal of time in the Rocky Mountains, both summer
and winter. I certainly enjoy a weekend in the 'high country'; everything
there is cool and clean, and the outdoors offers a good change from
city life. Unlike many Coloradans, I'm not a good skier, but I do
plan to learn how to snowshoe this coming winter.
I like
my job here at the ELC very much because it gives me an opportunity
to work with individuals from many cultures. I have learned a great
deal about the world through my students, and I hope that I can
continue teaching here for a long time.
