'Language & culture'--- these are the key words of my life. I always like to communicate with people from different countries and cultures, and learn new things. After I completed my BA in English and got a teaching certificate in Japan, I came to the U.S. to pursue my MA in TESOL. While I was working on my Master's degree, I got various teaching opportunities such as teaching and tutoring international students at an ESL program, tutoring ESL students at an elementary school, and teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language at a university. I also earned an Illinois teaching certificate in English Language Arts, ESL, and Japanese in secondary level. Through my varied experiences, I realized how much I love teaching and working with students. I understand how challenging it is to live and study in a different country, but at the same time how fascinating it is. I enjoy teaching and observing my students develop their language skills and confidence.
I joined the ELC faculty in 2011 and I am very happy to be teaching here. I am excited to try some fun things that Colorado has to offer, such as skiing, snowboarding, and hiking. I look forward to meeting you at the ELC!
