A Festival for All Cultures!

Festival of Nations 2009

Join hundreds of participants in traditional music, dancing, cultural displays, interactive exhibits, international cuisine and more! Various student groups, organizations from the Denver community, and other participants produce this diverse experience of cultures and people.

The first international festival at the University of Denver was in 1964 and was a gathering for American and International students. The Festival was initially organized by an international student group, which later led to the establishment of the International Student Organization. In 1983, the international gathering was officially named the Festival of Nations. Twenty-Six years later, the Festival of Nations continues strong as ever.

The Festival of Nations is a celebration of world diversity put on by the International Student Organization, and is a great way to learn about other countries’ traditions and cultures in a fun, exciting atmosphere. This year’s Festival will feature all-day entertainment from different groups that will play music, perform traditional dances, and demonstrate ceremonies from all over the world. The Festival of Nations is a place where you can see traditional Indian dances in the ballroom, get hot Vietnamese spring rolls, a refreshing Thai Iced Tea, and Korean Bulgogi beef from the booths on the bridge. Be sure to bring your friends to a full day of fun at DU’s largest student run event, with over 2,000 attendees!  The event is free and open to the public.
