International Service-Learning

Uniting Academics with Action

In keeping with DU's mission to develop global perspectives and connections and to make significant contributions to the public good, our International Service Learning program combines academic study with volunteer opportunities overseas.

Consider destinations like Bosnia-Herzegovina, Dharamsala (India), Ecuador, and El Salvador, andwhere you will have the chance to build relationships and learn from the people in your host community as you volunteer your time and skills. Wherever you go, whatever you do, an International Service Learning experience will challenge you to think about your role as a global citizen.

Open to all undergraduate and graduate students, International Service Learning opportunities provide intercultural, experiential learning experiences. You receive the chance to connect classroom knowledge with real life, while working alongside people in developing or disadvantaged countries to help meet community identified needs.

Several quarter and semester-long Cherrington-eligible study abroad programs offer a service learning component. Program locations include Greece, Italy, Thailand, South Africa (Capetown and Pietermaritzberg), and Vietnam. To learn more, please visit the Study Abroad Website.
