International Service-Learning

Uniting Academics with Action

In keeping with DU's mission to develop global perspectives and connections and to make significant contributions to the public good, our International Service Learning program combines academic study with volunteer opportunities overseas.

Consider destinations like Bosnia, Dharamsala (India), Ecuador, El Salvador, South Africa, and Thailand where you will have the chance to work with refugees, provide health education, or tutor children and adults. Wherever you go, whatever you do, an International Service Learning experience will challenge you to think about your role as a global citizen.

Open to all undergraduate and graduate students, International Service Learning opportunities provide intercultural learning experiences. You get the chance to connect classroom knowledge with real life, while working alongside people in developing or disadvantaged countries to meet community identified needs.

Several quarter and semester-long Cherrington-eligible study abroad programs offer a service learning component. Program locations include Greece, Italy, Thailand, South Africa (Capetown and Pietermaritzberg), and Vietnam. To learn more, please visit the Study Abroad Website.
