It is essential that you read the following information in addition
to looking at the cost breakdown.
The International Service Learning Office will register all accepted
students; you do NOT have to register for your service learning
course. Once registered, tuition bills will be sent out
to the student’s billing address. Tuition bills are generally
received in late November/early December for winter interterm programs,
and in late May/early June for summer programs.
Program financial aid awarded to students through the Office of
Internationalization will be reflected in the tuition billing.
Withdrawal/Refund Policies:
• All withdrawals must be made in writing and emailed to isl@du.edu
• The application fee is non-refundable unless the applicant
is not accepted to the program.
• The program fee is non-refundable.
• The participant is responsible for the airfare deposit,
any airfare cancellation expenses, or full airfare, should he/she
withdraw after airfare has been contracted.
• The participant is also responsible for any additional expenses
that have already been spent on his/her behalf should he/she have
to cancel prior to departure or mid-program.
Description of available funding:
All participants will receive a $400 Service Learning Scholarship
awarded by the University of Denver in recognition of students’
commitment to service.
Students may also be eligible for some program need-based financial
aid. If you wish to be considered for this aid, please check the
appropriate box on your ISL application and fill out the ISL Scholarship Application.
Although financial aid granted during the academic year is not
applicable for this program, students may consult with the Office
of Financial Aid for additional aid or loan information.
Merit awards for undergraduate research
may also be available through Partners
in Scholarship (PINS). You might also check with your
academic department to find out if additional funding may be available.
We strongly encourage students to be creative about raising funds
to help defray the additional cost of participating in an international
service learning program. To help you with this process, we have
developed a fund
raising guide.
