New Student Check-In
Once you arrive in the United States, you must complete the check-in process to report your arrival to an international student advisor. Check-in must be completed within 30 days of your arrival in order to properly report your arrival to the federal government. Failure to check-in with an advisor is a violation of your immigration status and may result in the termination of your program.
Registration Hold
A registration hold is placed on the student account of all new international students. Once you complete the check-in process, this hold will be removed and you will be able to register for classes. You should complete check-in as early as possible in order to have the hold removed by the time you are scheduled to register during Discoveries orientation (undergraduates only) or when you meet with your academic advisor (graduate students).
Completing the Check-In Process
Step 1 - Update your current U.S. address in myWeb.
If you do not yet have a permanent address, you should report the residence where you are currently staying, such as a hotel or the address for your host family. You can update your address again once you have a permanent one.
Step 2 - Bring required forms and immigration documents to the International House.
