About the Festival of Nations
The 29th annual Festival of Nations will take place on Saturday, May 5, 2012 in the Ritchie Center at the University of Denver. The Festival of Nations is open to all DU students, faculty, and staff, as well as the students from surrounding universities and general public.
Purpose
The Festival of Nations celebrates international culture at the University of Denver, through the presence and participation of international students and scholars on campus. The Festival of Nations is an opportunity for the DU community to learn about the rich and diverse international presence on campus through a celebration of different cultures, food, traditions, music and dances.
History
The Festival of Nations has been a campus tradition at the University of Denver for over two decades. The annual festival was coordinated by the International Student Organization (ISO) until 2010, when the Festival of Nations Planning Board was formed to assist with planning, funding, and executing the growing Festival of Nations. The Festival of Nations is a student-led event.
International Celebration Week
The Festival of Nations is now also the culmination of DU's International Celebration Week, which highlights internationalization both inside and outside the classroom at the University of Denver.
