Welcome to Denver!
Who are we?
The
International Orientation Team (know as
I-Team) is a student run organization designed to help incoming
international students adjust to the new environment of the University
of Denver (DU) and United States as a whole. Working closely with
the International House, the International Student Advisor as well
as the International Student Organization (ISO), we provide services
to new international students to aid them in adapting to their new
surroundings. The I-Team is made up of students at DU from all disciplines
ranging from Business to International Studies to Physics and more!
Many I-Team members are international students themselves or have
lived internationally so we understand what new international students
really need and want when they first arrive in Denver. The I-Team
has several U.S students so we can also help explain U.S. American
ways and culture. Together we make up a great team willing and waiting
to help.
What do we do?
In
order to aid in the adjustment process
I-Team hosts several events, such as the campus tour, restaurant
hop, shopping trip, orientation sessions, downtown excursions, barbeques
and many more. The campus tour is adapted to the needs of international
students in order to ensure that they feel comfortable around campus.
For the shopping trip, the I-Team takes students to such places
like Target so they can purchase any items they may need. Immigration
and other orientation sessions are vitally important to learn about
the laws and processes around DU. The restaurant hop, downtown excursion,
and barbeques are hosted so all new students can mingle with each
other and make new friends from all over the world!
