Check-in and Forms
Students who hold an immigration status other
than F-1 or J-1 are not required to attend International Student
Orientation.
Instead, they must provide copies of their immigration papers to
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). Once these documents
have been provided, ISSS can lift the registration hold so a student
can register for courses.
Necessary Immigration Documents For Check-In:
- Passport - Page(s) showing Name, Photograph, Date of Birth,
Expiration Date.
-
I-94 Card - this is the small white card
stapled into the passport which shows your current immigration
status and when your status expires. If you have changed your
status then this will be a machine generated document from
USCIS.
- Visa - Most recent visa.
-
Notice of Action from USCIS -- If you have
changed status since the last time that you entered the United
States.
- Copies of I-20's or DS-2019 -- Only if you hold J-2
status.
SUBMIT to 303-871-4910 with
your DU student ID # and the following note: "Non-immigrant
check-in."
Once you have submitted these documents and form, it will take
between 1-2 business days to remove your registration hold. If,
after presenting these materials, you still cannot register, please
check with the registrar's office or the on-line registration system
to make sure that you in fact have an International Hold and not
some other type of registration block.
Note: If
you are Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) of the United
States, please present us with a copy of your Alien Card and your
student ID number and we will correct our records to reflect your
status.
