List of Programs
International Student and Scholar Services hosts a number of international and cultural events each year for students, faculty, and staff on campus. If you are interested in hosting an event at the International House, or if you would like assistance from our staff in designing programming for international students and scholars on campus, please contact our office at isss@du.edu.
ISSS holds an orientation for new international student at the start of each term. During orientation, students learn about immigration regulations, life in the United States, and resources available to help them succeed at DU. Attendance is mandatory for all new F-1 and J-1 students. |
The travel clinic helps prepare international students for travel outside the United States. Advisors are available during the travel clinic to issue travel signatures and to answer questions about travel, visa renewal and revalidation, and immigration regulations. |
The career planning workshop provides students with career-planning tips and strategies for acquiring employment in the United States. The H-1B/PR workshop outlines the regulations and procedures associated with applying for an H-1B visa or permanent residency based on employment. |
Beta Alpha Psi, the School of Accountancy, the IRS, and ISSS work together to provide tax assistance to international students in early winter quarter. Information is available during the tax workshops on tax treaties and scholarship reporting. |
The Festival of Nations is the largest student-produced event held each year at DU. The Festival of Nations brings together international and cultural groups from across the University and the state of Colorado to provide internationally-focused food, entertainment, and activities. |
The luncheon program provides students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to attend an international-focused event, visit with friends and colleagues, and enjoy a complimentary lunch. Topics of discussion and presentation vary each month. |
ISSS hosts a welcome reception at the start of the academic year to welcome new international students ands scholars to DU. New and returning students and scholars are invited to attend and develop new friendship, share stories, and learn about the services offered at the International House. |
ISSS hosts a graduation reception at the end of each year for graduating international students at DU. The graduation reception is a time for friends, family, and faculty and staff to celebrate the accomplishments of international students at DU. |
