  Vice Provost's Welcome

It is my pleasure as Vice Provost for Internationalization to welcome you to the University of Denver web site. We at DU are honored to have provided a high quality education to many thousands of students from around the world. Currently more than 800 international students representing 98 countries are studying with us here in Denver. We feel a special obligation to these students who bring a wealth of new ideas to our campus. The Office of Internationalization was established to meet the needs of our students from abroad. Located in the International House, we provide informational, social, and cultural events and immigration advising for DU's international student population. This office can also help you with your English language needs through the excellent programs of our English Language Center . Our staff is here to assist you. Please feel free to drop in or contact us at any time.
I hope you will take the time to browse the vast array of academic programs at DU. Let me, however, take this opportunity to mention a few of the exciting programs that may be of special interest to prospective international students. If you are interested in living in a multi-cultural environment, you should consider the Center for International Living and Learning. International students and American students share meals, living space, and academic seminars while they explore far ranging global concerns. At the Daniels College of Business, the curriculum focuses on creative problem-solving, entrepreneurship, communication skills, and values and ethics, as well as specific disciplines such as marketing, accounting, and management. The School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management (HRTM), in its bachelor’s and master’s degree programs prepares individuals for a variety of managerial positions in the hospitality field both internationally and within the United States.  You may also be interested to know that the University of Denver offers a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science. The Graduate School of International Studies has a number of programs of interest and value to the international student.  Finally, be sure to look at the exciting programs in the College of Law, the Graduate School of Social Work, Graduate School of Professional Psychology, the College of Education, and the faculties of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering.

Once again, welcome to the DU web site.  We hope to see you here in Denver in the near future!
