About us

The International Studies Schools Association (ISSA) is a national network of K-12 schools dedicated to improving students’ understanding of the world.  The ISSA is administered by the Center for Teaching International Relations (CTIR) at the University of Denver Graduate School of International Studies.

Our membership includes a wide variety of schools, whose curricula and programs reflect the rich diversity of primary and secondary education. Our members include urban magnet schools, charter schools, rural schools, parochial schools, and independent schools.

ISSA schools are located across the United States and Mexico.  Membership also includes private organizations that share the desire to prepare today's youth for the increasingly global surroundings.

Become a member of this fast-growing, dynamic network.

Featured Event

Make sure to take advantage of opportunities to network with other ISSA Members at Indiana University's 13th Annual International Studies Summer Institute, July 13-16.  Grade 7-12 teachers are invited to explore diverse topics such as global environmental change, international food security, international trade, populations at risk, and conflict resolution, with colleagues from around the world at a two week residential summer institute.  The first 20 teachers accepted will be offered scholarships worth $800 each.  Professional Growth Points will be awarded and graduate credit is optional.

The Center for the Study of Global Change at Indiana University has partnered with ISSA for several ISSA conferences as a videoconferencing provider.  We value their work with ISSA.
