2006 Conference
The 2006 ISSA Conference was held in Raleigh, North Carolina,
February 16-19.

Pre-Conference Events on Thursday, February 16 included:
KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Marcus Mabry, Senior Editor and Chief of Correspondents, Newsweek magazine
Mr. Mabry is responsible for deploying and managing Newsweek’s more than 40 domestic and international correspondents. Prior to being named Chief of Correspondents in March 2002, Mr. Mabry had been a senior editor on Newsweek’s international edition. A veteran foreign correspondent, Mabry joined Newsweek in July 1989. He was named Washington correspondent in January 1991, covering the State Department. He served as Paris correspondent from 1993 to 1996 and Johannesburg bureau chief from 1996 to 1999.
Mr. Mabry was the 1999-2000 Edward R. Murrow Press Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. Mabry is a member of the Board of Governors of the Overseas Press Club and the National Association of Black Journalists. He is also a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Mr. Mabry is currently at work on a biography of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. He understands how important international affairs are in today’s world and is passionate about global education in the United States.
